Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe, Uganda and Transfer to Jinja

You will be received by your driver/guide at the airport. After, you will be transferred to Jinja for white water rafting to begin the first day of your Uganda safari

Day 2: White Water Rafting and transfer to Mbale

After breakfast, go for a full day of white water rafting. You’ll have lunch at Itanda. 3and half You will after transfer to Mbale. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge of booking.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo (The drive will take 8 hours)

After breakfast you will transfer to Kidepo National Park. Upon arrival, you will either take a game drive around the lodge area or refreshing dip in stunning swimming pool.

Carved out of a granite kopje the pool affords fantastic views down the Narus valley and over a waterhole frequented by many animals including Bullbull- our friendly elephant and unofficial head gardener, Overnight.

Day 4: Safari in Kidepo valley National Park, Evening game drive

After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including Ostrich.

In the afternoon have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them.

They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. You will also enjoy an evening game drive where you will expect to see a variety of animals roaming around including the Ostrich.

Day 5: Murchison Falls National Park, Evening game drive or Visit the top of the falls ( The drive will take 8 hours)

We set off from Kidepo at 7a.m. after our morning breakfast and drive to Murchison.

Upon arrival, you will visit the “top of the thunderous Murchison falls”, where you will observe the River Nile squeezing itself in a 7 meter gorge before tumbling 40 meters down in a thunderous explosion and then flows down into a very peaceful river whose water banks are swarmed with a profusion of water and land animals as well as birds.

Or later you will go for an evening game drive in search for different animal species such as Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest and waterbucks. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog and bush pig plus large carnivores including lions, leopards and spotted hyenas. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge of booking.

Day 6: Murchison Falls National Park

You will wake up very early and set off at 6.30am for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see the Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest and waterbucks.

You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog and bush pig plus large carnivores including lions, leopards and spotted hyenas. Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork and the rare shoebill stork.

You will return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation before you set off in the afternoon for a boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls.

En route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water buck and a wide variety of birds like the unusual shoebill stork. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron” for pictures to be taken of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls.

 Day 7: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary- Hoima

Leave Murchison Falls National Park for Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.You will visit and track white rhinos at Ziwa rhino sanctuary.

This sanctuary has now been established to breed black and white rhinos, and restore rhino populations in Uganda’s’ protected areas in a later stage.

After lunch you will proceed to Hoima for your dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale, Visit Craters and Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park via the Lake Albert escarpment, having a good view of the lake and after drive across the interesting river Nkusi (flowing from the southern end of Lake Albert, through the villages of Kagadi, joining Victoria Nile).

Both rivers join Lake Kyoga and flow through the Murchison Falls continue to Lake Albert and north to the Mediterranean Sea. You will visit some of the crater lakes to the regions which are both salty lakes that attract seasonal birds like flamingo to the region. They are also fresh crater lakes where fishing is done by using traditional method. In the afternoon you will visit a nearby forest swamp that is excellent for viewing primates and other forest animals. At the Eastern edge of Kibale forest is Bigodi Wetland sanctuary which is maintained by the local community. You will expect birds like the great Blue turaco, blue monkeys, baboons, otters, mongoose, bush bucks, bush pigs and among others.Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge of booking.

Day 9: Chimp tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Evening game drive (The drive takes 3 hrs)

After breakfast you will report at the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre at 08.00 am for a briefing on the rules before tracking the chimpanzees.

Kibale Forest National Park has the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee known to be a delightful ape.

The trek takes 2-3 hours and it will provide you with the opportunity to also see a variety of other primates and animals as well as birds, and a variety of butterflies, and other insects.

You will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park with You will do an evening game drive in search for the famous Big Five; Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas leopards, antelopes, and Waterbucks as well as birds. (Driving time 2hrs)

Day 10: MorningGame Drive and Boat Cruise and Evening Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will set off early (about 6.30am) for a morning game drive, an awesome experience to spot the animals in natural habitats.

Expect to see the famous Big Five; Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas leopards, antelopes, and Waterbucks as well as birds.

You will return for breakfast and relax till lunch. In the afternoon you will take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel to see, at close range, the water animals to include Hippos, Buffalos, Crocodiles and elephants bathing on the channel banks.

There is also a variety of bird species on the water banks especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana. You will transfer. You will also go for another evening game drive in search for the animal species. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 11:Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha sector (Driving time: 1hr and half)

Early after breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Ishasha sector. Again expect to see tree climbing lions, and variety of both rare and common birds. Later transfer to Bwindi. Dinner and overnight will at your lodge of booking.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today enjoy gorilla tracking in Bwindi. After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before the highlighting of the trip.

Gorilla trekking, which may last the entire day. We trek the gorillas through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers ,in search of a mountain gorilla family ,the walking can sometimes be tough and long ,but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback ,any discomforts will be quickly forgotten .

When the gorillas are sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 meters from the gorillas, sit around  them for a whole hour  while gazing into their big round eyes. Gorilla trekking is unpredictable. It’s difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike .

The gorilla excursion can take from 2 up 8 hours. Expect to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. A good physical condition is recommended.

For conservation purposes, time spent with gorillas is limited to one hour. A ranger will brief you on how to behave with the gorillas.

Day 13-14: Transfer to Lake Mutanda for Relaxation

After an early breakfast, you will go for option activities or relax on Lake Mutanda. These option activities include Canoeing on Lake Mutanda, coffee tour in Kisoro, Pygmies community visit in Kisoro, golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga National Park or go for Congo boarder walk.

Note: The cost for these option activities are not included in the costing estimated in the itinerary. If at all you interested for can pay for them.

Day 15: Transfer to Lake Mburo and evening game drive

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Its centered on a series of swamp-fringed lakes rich in bird life while its green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like the Zebra, warthog, Elands, Impala among others. You will have lunch in Mbarara town and continue the drive to the park. In the evening you will go for an evening game drive where you will expect to see a variety of animals including the Zebra, warthog, Elands, Impala among others and the bird species.

Day 16: Return to Kampala (flight at 4 p.m.)

After an early breakfast, you will return to Kampala, driving down the 10 grassed and terraced escarpments of southwestern Uganda while taking in the breathtaking sights of the hills of the region dubbed ‘the little Switzerland of Africa’. You will have a stopover at the Equator and enroute.  We will be in Kampala in the evening before for your flight back home. This marks the end of the 16 day Uganda safari
