5 Day Safari Overview

5 Day Uganda safari, it that will take you to Kibale Forest National Park for Chimp trekking which is the main attraction. It also involves optional bird watching, a nature walk through the Bigodi Swamp area, a visit to a community in the area, or a visit to one of the crater lakes.

Safari Itinerary 

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

You will be met at the airport by our safari guide who will transfer you to the hotel reserved for you in Kampala. Dinner and overnight will be at this hotel.

Day 2: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park
You will depart Kampala after breakfast and head westwards to Fort Portal town. The drive will take about 4 -5 hours. You will have lunch in Fort Portal and continue to Kibale where you will go for either a community walk or visit the beautiful Crater lakes region for a spectacular view. Dinner and overnight will be at your reserved lodge.

Day 3: Chimp tracking and Boat cruise on Kazinga channel
After breakfast you will report at the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre at 08.00 am for a briefing before tracking the chimpanzees. The forest is only accessible on foot and the walk will provide you with the opportunity to also see a variety of other primates and animals as well as birds, and a variety of butterflies, and other insects.  You will after the trek transfer to Queen Elizabeth national Park arriving in time for the amazing Kazinga channel to see at close range the water animals to include Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles. There is also a variety of bird species on the water banks especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge. You will have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Game drive and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

You will set off early (about 6.30am) for a morning game drive, an awesome experience to spot the animals in natural habitats.  Expect to see the famous Big Five; Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas leopards, antelopes, and Waterbucks as well as birds. You will return for breakfast and relax till lunch. In the afternoon you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 5: Game drive in the Mburo Park and boat cruise on the Lake

You will have an early breakfast and travel to Lake Mburo National Park centered on a series of swamp-fringed lakes rich in bird life while its green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like the Zebra, warthog, Elands, Impala among others which can be seen even as you enter the park. You will have 2 hour game drive and go for lunch at the lodge reserved for you. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on L. Mburo and get quite close to the crocodiles and hippos. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Travel to Kampala

After breakfast you will set off for Kampala. You will have a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time and take some photos. The entire stretch of this journey will take 6-7 hours arriving in Kampala in the late afternoon. Depending on the timing of your departure flight you will either be transferred to the Airport for your scheduled flight back home or to the hotel of your booking for dinner and overnight.
