Overview
African safari wildlife park (Kidepo National park) takes you to the Karamoja region in the Northeastern part of Uganda where the Kidepo National park is located. Kidepo National park is one of Africa’s last great wilderness areas – a tract of rugged savannah landscape dominated by Mount Morungole and cut by the Kidepo and Narus Rivers making it an oasis in the semi-desert.

African safari wildlife park Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
You will be met at the airport by our safari guide who will transfer you to the hotel reserved for you in Kampala. Dinner and overnight will be at this hotel.

Day 2: Travel to Kidepo Valley National Park
The official Kidepo national park safari (African safari wildlife park) begins on this day after an early breakfast and we set off for Kidepo National Park. Drive time will be 9 – 10 hours to the far North-East where Uganda borders Kenya and Southern Sudan. The journey will take you through the towns of Mbale, Soroti, and Kotido before finally getting to the park. You will arrive in the evening and have dinner and overnight at the lodge booked for you.

Day 3: Game Drive and scenic viewing
To continue the Kidepo National Park safari (African safari wildlife park), we set off after breakfast for a game drive in the gorgeous Kanangorok hot spring areas to see birds and wild game and visit the hot springs. You will drive to the Narus Valley where you will see elephants, zebras, herds of buffaloes, giraffes, plus if lucky lions, cheetahs, leopards, and the ostrich bird. You will return to your lodge for a late lunch before going for a nature walk.

Day 4: Cultural tour
Today you will be taken on a guided cultural village tour where you will learn about the nomadic lifestyle of the people around Karenga and Kidepo. You will visit the Karamajong homesteads (manyattas) and see the kraals of cattle, the traditional costumes, stools, spears, headdresses, knives, bows, arrows, jewelry, grinding stones, and utensils all made locally by the natives. In the evening you will be taken for a sunset game drive to explore more of Kidepo’s savannah, hills, small forests, dry river beds, and rings of mountains before retiring to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Travel back to Kampala
You will have an early breakfast and set off for your return journey to Kampala arriving in the evening.
