Overview
This 8-day tour takes you to Lake Mburo National Park, Bwindi National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and finally Kibale Forest National Park. You will do game viewing through game drives and boat launches, undertake gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, go for nature walks, and have a cultural experience of the Batwa people.

Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kampala
You will be met at the airport by our safari guide who will transfer you to the hotel reserved for you in Kampala. Dinner and overnight will be at this hotel.

Day 2: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park and Boat ride
You will set off after breakfast for the Lake Mburo National Park in the western part of the country. You will have a stopover at the Mpigi Drum Makers village to see how the Royal drums are made using traditional methods that have been handed down over generations. Another stopover will be at the Equator for photos at this international landmark where you will also watch the mesmerizing water experiments conducted at the spot where the two hemispheres divide. You will continue the drive through the rolling hills and plains dotted with community homesteads and herds of the long-horned Ankole cattle to Lake Mburo National Park. You will arrive in time for an afternoon boat ride and later retire for dinner and overnight at your booked lodge.

Day 3: Game drive in Mburo and transfer to Bwindi
You will wake up early and set off for a morning game drive to enjoy the rich biodiversity of this small park that boasts of the large herds of zebra, impala, gigantic eland, topis, and a variety of bird species. You will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and hit the road again for Bwindi Forest National Park, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge of your booking.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and cultural tour
You will have an early morning breakfast and move to the Park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:45 am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will have one hour to stay with the Gorillas once sited before returning to your lodge. Time allows you will go for a guided community walk to experience the livelihoods of the local communities. You will visit a traditional herbalist to see how he prepares native medicine to treat a wide array of human sicknesses, see a blacksmith manufacturing local tools used in everyday life and see how local beer is brewed using local methods. You will also be entertained by the traditional dances offered by the community. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge of booking.

Day 5: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat cruise
You will after breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the beautiful scenery of this part of the country characterized by gigantic hills and steep valleys of volcanic origin. You will get to Queen Elizabeth through the southern part of the park (Ishasha sector) renowned for the tree-climbing lions and have lunch at one of the lodges before continuing to the center of the park. You will arrive in time for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will enjoy a close view of a variety of water animals and birds. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge of your booking.

Day 6: Game drive and travel to Kibale Forest National Park
You will wake up early for a morning game drive in the park during which you will see Lions, Elephants, Topis, Leopards, Bushbucks, Cape Buffaloes, Defassa Waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, Uganda Kobs, among others. On the Drive to Kibale National Park, you will be able to enjoy an impressive sight of the legendary “Mountains of the Moon” which you will clearly see on the road to Fort Portal.

Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking and swamp walk
You will, after breakfast, head to Kibale Forest National park to view the primates. The activity begins at 8.00 am with a briefing on the rule for trekking the chimpanzees after which you set off to search for them in the forest. The exercise takes half a day and along the way, you will see other primates such as Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Phoestes, Red-Colobus, and the Blue tailed and the Red-tailed monkeys swinging in the branches of this thick forest. Your guide will give you informative briefings on the lifestyles of the primates you will be coming across and on the plants as well as on the insects and butterflies in this forest to ensure that the trek is not only enjoyable but informative as well. You will return to the lodge for lunch after which you will explore the unique Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site where you will see uncommon plants and rare bird species such as the Great Blue Turaco, little Bulbul, Rwenzori Turaco, and the Narina Trogon, among others.
